The School of Advertising Art has once again been included in a roster of 38 of the country’s most prestigious graphic design colleges. Graphic Design USA Magazine chose the colleges based on the success level of the program and annual recognition of award-winning student work.
The March/April issue of Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) magazine highlights the country’s Top U.S. Design Schools. SAA is included on the list with other well-known colleges such as Yale University School of Art, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Pratt Institute, and UCLA Design Media Arts. Since 2010, GDUSA magazine has also included SAA students on their annual “Students to Watch” list. This year, Sylvania resident Caitlin McCurdy and Englewood resident Lauren Landes were chosen by SAA instructors to be included on the respected list of top design students.
“Being recognized for the fifth year in a row is a true testament to how our faculty and staff truly care about our students’ success and well-being, their colleagues, our alumni, and the future of SAA,” stated Jessica Barry, President at SAA. “Because of this national recognition, we’ve grown tremendously in the last four years and are currently in the process of expanding our campus.”
Founded in 1983, SAA has increased its enrollment by 52% since 2012. Due to the enrollment increase and projected enrollment of 200 students this fall, the college is moving forward with either expanding their current 15,000 square foot facility on East David Road or building a new campus in the Dayton region.
SAA delivers a focused curriculum that provides students with the training and skills needed to succeed as professional graphic and web designers and photographers. SAA graduates work with top brands such as Nike, Apple, Victoria’s Secret, Pandora, ModCloth, musician will.i.am, and Journeys.
