saa Open Houses provide a casual, open forum for learning more about saa without an appointment or interview. Prospective students, their families, and friends are invited.

At our Fall Open House on November 3, get an idea of what courses are like at SAA by visiting classrooms as instructors and students work on projects. Meet faculty, staff, and alumni Shelby White of Real Art Design Group, along with her employer. [Click here to view a video of Shelby.] Have a portfolio review, or bring just a few pieces of artwork and get advice on how to complete a portfolio. Ask financial aid questions, meet area housing reps, and enjoy a few snacks!

Visit us November 3, and discover how your passion for art and design can lead you to a remarkable career as a hybrid designer—a designer who understands the principles of design and creativity and can communicate ideas through traditional advertising and so much more—a video showcasing a college campus, 3D illustrations for a series of posters, photographs of a musician’s latest gig, or a mobile app and website for a new restaurant. You can become a hybrid designer by developing skills at SAA in many areas: Graphic Design, Illustration, Web Design, Photography, and Video.

Interviewing at an Open House
While we recommend scheduling a college visit and interview while class is in session, we realize that this may not be possible for some students. As a convenience, we welcome you to bring samples of your work and your high school and/or college transcript to an Open House, and you may be accepted on the spot. The samples can include drawings, paintings, computer art, sketchbooks, and/or photography. Most students bring 8–10 pieces, but feel free to bring fewer or more.
