Over $200,000 in tuition reduction and tuition awards are available for incoming first-year students. All saa tuition awards are credited toward saa tuition and expenses. All accepted students are eligible to enter the competitions, with one exception. You must be enrolled to enter the “Portfolio Competition Awards for Enrolled Students” competition. A competition checklist, essay topics, and details on how to submit your entry will be mailed to all accepted students in February 2012.

eligibility: First-year students accepted and enrolled to start classes in August 2012. If not already enrolled, complete the enrollment agreement packet and submit your $100 enrollment fee. This must be complete by March 17, 2012 to qualify. To receive an enrollment agreement call saa at 877 300 9866. This packet is not downloadable from the saa website.
award amount: Up to four students will each be offered a $5,000 award [$2,500 per year] based on past academic success and the level of skill and creativity shown in their portfolio.

awards for multicultural students
eligibility: First-year students accepted to start classes in August 2012. Applicants must be identified as African American, Latina/Latino, Native American, Asian American, Pacific Islander, or other ethnic minority. Essay required.
award amount: Up to four students who exhibit great artistic skill and past academic success will each be offered a $5,000 award [$2,500 per year].

career center awards
eligibility: First-year students accepted to start classes in August 2012 who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and will graduate from a Career Center high school.
award amount: $5,000

governor’s show awards
The Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition is an annual competition for Ohio high school students. Artwork is first entered on a regional level with selected work chosen to compete on the state level. Visit govart.org for more information.
eligibility: Any student who attends a public or private high school chartered by the State of Ohio Department of Education may enter the competition.
award amount: The School of Advertising Art provides a $10,000 award to all high school juniors and seniors who place in the Top 300 on the state level and who are accepted to the School of Advertising Art.

eligibility: Students awarded first place at the Ohio Southwest Regional Advertising Design Contests, and the Ohio State SkillsUSA Advertising Design Contest and Web Design Contests. For contest information visit skillsusa.org.

Yes, with one exception: you must be accepted AND enrolled to enter the Portfolio Competitions for Enrolled Students.
